Welcome Intake Coordinator

I would like to officially introduce The Legal Project’s new Intake Coordinator, Pamela Pearson.  Pam brings with her a longstanding interest in services to women as well as a background that includes work with The Legal Project’s programs.

For the last seven years, Pam has been employed by the YWCA in Schenectady – as a Residence Coordinator in her earlier years and most recently as a Domestic Violence Court Advocate in Family and Police Courts.

Her work as a Court Advocate included assisting victims of domestic violence in completing their initial family offense and custody petitions as well as making referrals to our Domestic Violence Legal Connection.  As a Court Advocate, she was in the position of working with some of the attorneys on our panel to ensure the best partnership of services to victims of domestic violence.

In addition to her work with our Domestic Violence Legal Connection program, Pam also scheduled clients for appointments at the Legal Clinic that we hold at the YWCA and often assisted with client intake there as well.  Her experience with legal programs also includes working with Legal Aide at the Schenectady Pro Se Divorce Clinic and acting as a liaison to the Schenectady District Attorney’s office for domestic violence case coordination.

We are very fortunate to have such a committed and well experienced person join our staff.  She looks forward to working with all of you who so generously donate your time to our programs.  Welcome to our staff, Pam.

Although it is sad to say goodbye to Tara Caswell, our Intake Coordinator for the last year, we wish her well in her quest for employement that allows her to make full use of her paralegal degree.
