The Legal Project

Pro Bono Corner
Lisa A. Frisch, Executive Director

Happy Holidays!

We wanted to share some of the great photos from our 14th Annual Pro Bono Reception, held on October 22, 2009 at the beautiful New York State Museum, and give some special thanks to some special people that made it an especially wonderful event.

We had a fabulous raffle for a 52 inch Flat Screen TV donated by Press Play Home Entertainment and 4 Yankee Boston tickets for the 2010 Season with a limo ride from Today’s Limousine. Tom King was the lucky winner of the TV and Joe Caruso nearly fell over when he found out he won the Yankee tickets.

First, I want to thank our amazing staff of The Legal Project who make a great team and made this event look easy to pull off. You truly are the best staff in the world!

Here is a stunned Tom King with the great folks from Press Play.

Victor Mazzotti & Paul Harding

We wanted to send a HUGE thank you to Paul Harding and all of the terrific people at Martin, Harding & Mazzotti, LLP, who, by far, sold the most raffle tickets. We know selling anything in these economic times is a challenge, but these folks went all out and sold hundreds of tickets. Thank you!!!!

We had a fun, new addition to our Pro Bono Reception—delicious desserts donated by the Four Corners Luncheonette in Delmar, including freshly prepared homemade apple donut sundaes. And since people ate them standing up, there were no calories! Thank you, David and all the good folks at Four Corners!

Michelle Wildgrube, John Kenney and Lydia Kulbida

We are very grateful to the wonderful Lydia Kulbida of WTEN, who generously gave of her time to be our Mistress of Ceremonies. It is clear that she truly cares about the work of The Legal Project and the people that we serve—thank you so much, Lydia!

Lisa Frisch, Michael Breslin and Susan Arbetter

For the first time, we had a live auction as well as a silent auction, and the incredible and multi-talented Susan Arbetter of WCNY was our auctioneer. Susan created such an amazing energy in the room that everyone is asking us to do it again next year. She also drove back and forth from Syracuse in order to do this for us. Thank you, Susan!

Thank you again to our generous Underwriters, Steering Committee, Silent Auction Committee, Honorary Committee Members, Auction Donors and those who took the time to attend! Congratulations again to the Award Winners!!!!
